The Fourth Annual Hit It FARR for Kirby Golf Classic will be on June 25, 2010! We have been blessed this year with an amazing turnout by returning teams and new teams. As of now, our 8:00 AM shotgun start is full, and we are still registering teams for our 1:30 PM shotgun start. We are thrilled to have many teams returning for a fourth year, some returning for their second or third year, and others coming for their first time this year. We thank all of our players for their support, and for spreading the word to their friends and family, which has resulted in an awesome field of teams for the Fourth Annual Tournament! Please join us as we again raise money for Autism Research!
We are pleased to welcome Dr. Steven Gutstein again to this year's tournament! Dr. Gutsetin is the founder of Relationship Developmental Intervention (RDI) which is the parent-based therapy that we have been doing with Kirby since 2006. He is also the Director of the Foundation for Autism Research and Remediation (FARR). We are excited to have him share with us the direction in which FARR is moving and how our contributions will be utilized in research supporting those affected by Autism.
We also thank our Sponsors/Donors for their continued support of Autism Research. We continue to welcome Tee Sign Sponsors, Prize Sponsors, Silent Auction Donors and Event Donors. Interested sponsors/donors can view the Sponsor Information Page or contact us via email to discuss sponsorship options. We are also welcoming volunteers to assist us on the day prior to the tournament and during the tournament. Please plan to join us in contributing to research that will help us and others to ensure that we can do everything possible to give our children a better future! Also we are pleased to announce that "Hit It FARR For Kirby" has been accepted as a 501(c)(3) public charity.
2008 Tournament Donated over $20,000 To FARR!
We had a wonderful 2008 Hit It FARR For Kirby Tournament! We are so thrilled to report that the 2007 and 2008 Tournaments combined have donated over $43,000 to FARR for Autism research! We were very blessed this year with a full field of golfers, 272 in all, in 2 shotgun starts of 34 4-man teams each. To our golfers, we thank you so much for your support and we hope to see you again next year! Over 75 Sponsors and Donors supported our fundraising efforts, and to all of our sponsors and donors, we thoroughly appreciate your contributions! We also want to thank our over 60 volunteers for their tireless efforts, as we could not host the tournament without your support! A special thank you also goes to the course staff of River Ridge Golf Club, who provided support throughout all phases of the event, including planning and executing the tournament. We had a wonderful time and are very excited for 2009!
We were very honored to host Dr. Steven Gutstein, psychologist and founder of RDI (Relationship Development Intervention Therapy) and Director of FARR, at the tournament this year! He spoke during the morning and the afternoon awards ceremonies on the mission of FARR and what our contributions can do through FARR. Please visit the link above to hear his talk during the morning awards, an excerpt from this talk is also included on the 2008 Tournament Video. He graciously visited with golfers, parents and sponsors throughout the day. Dr. Gutstein also provided a course on RDI for Professionals (teachers, therapists) which was held in the clubhouse during the afternoon round. Many professionals from the area attended and the talk was very well received. We thank Dr. Gutstein for making himself completely available to us throughout the day and for his tireless work with RDI and with FARR!
